Society’s Standards

Because in this society

If you’re not a size 0

Then you’re not pretty

If you don’t contour

If your lips aren’t full

You’re simply not beautiful

That’s why I write

Because my pen and paper

They don’t judge my face or shape

They listen to my woes

Without judging my flaws

They see me human

Without expecting perfection

-Juliet Rivor © August 2017

Society has a twisted view of what beautiful is. I do have to admit, kudos to those that know how to contour. But all I’m saying is that we’re all human and we’re all beautiful in our own way. Let’s learn to love one another. After all, it’s one world and we do share it 😉
