Love is Not an Obligation

Your concept of love is inanely abstract

It’s not an oppressive contract

Because it’s not meant to be an obligation

Much less an imposition

So fix the way you look at me

Through those pretty brown eyes

Or soon what you’ll see

My side of the bed empty

At 2late o’clock

When useless and futile will be any apologies

Once that line is crossed, there’s no going back. Give her a reason to stay. Make everyday count and make her fall in love with you all over again.

Everyday.
